Homework Good or Bad?

Most kids hate home work and think it is unhelpful to their lives, but is homework such a bad thing? It helps kids understand the work that they are doing in school and it tells the parents what their kid is doing in school. If there was no homework then kids would goof off the rest of the day after school and the next day they would probably not remember what they did the day before and start getting bad grades. So is homework really a bad thing?
